Located adjacent to the Glens Falls Independent Living Center on Glenwood Avenue, the facility contains a variety of handicapped accessible play apparatus including: swings, slides, ramps, a sandbox, and an assortment of other unique and challenging playground structures and equipment. The park project was a coordinated effort between the Kiwanis Club of Glens Falls and the Glens Falls Independent Living Center. The entire cost of the facility was funded by donations from numerous individuals, area companies and foundations. Constructed entirely using volunteer labor, Freedom Park playground was based on "Jonathon's Dream," the first fully accessible boundless children's playground designed and constructed in West Hartford Connecticut. Encompassing over 6,200 square feet, Freedom Park has a picnic table and portable restroom facility and will be open during daylight hours only.
