Gurney Lane Recreation Facilities
Gurney Lane Road
Gurney Lane is the largest of the town parks with over 125 acres. Facilities at the park include a large outdoor swimming pool with diving area, bathhouse, concession facilities, a variety of children’s play apparatus, a large picnic pavilion, and numerous picnic/cookout facilities. A 1.3 mile educational nature trail crisscrosses the park, and a small pond which is stocked with trout, provides residents the opportunity to enjoy a variety of warm weather outdoor activities. In the winter months, the pond freezes and is cleared as an ice skating area, a sledding hill is created and over 3 miles of cross-country ski trails are groomed and maintained. Expansion plans for the park include additional individual and group athletic facilities, a smaller picnic pavilion with cookout sites, and support facilities.
