Ridge/Jenkinsville Park
Jenkinsville Road
Located between Ridge Road and Jenkinsville Road, this 80-acre sports complex is home to the town’s adult softball leagues in the spring/summer months, and the children’s soccer program in the fall. The park facilities include four regulation-size softball fields with clay infields, restroom/concession facilities, a picnic shelter, picnic/cookout facilities and assorted children’s play apparatus. Future park development will include additional athletic facilities, as well as upgrading the children’s play apparatus area.
The first phase of a three phase park improvement plan was completed in the Fall of 2004. Phase one entailed softball field improvements (fencing, field expansion and drainage). Phase two will include improved parking and the addition of two tennis courts and one basketball court. Finally, phase three will involve expanded park amenities, highlighted by additional athletic field/facilities. An overall conceptual design plan is available for view. Those interested in viewing the plans, should contact the Department office and make arrangements to stop by.
