Queensbury Parks & Recreation
The Town of Queensbury Parks & Recreation Department is committed to offering a wide range of opportunities to all members of the community and is charged with providing municipal year-round leisure time services to town residents. There are several locations throughout the town for individuals and families to enjoy indoor and outdoor, and warm and cold weather activities.
Queensbury Parks & Recreation offers a variety of recreational programs and activities, and special events are offered for both children and adults. The department also operates and maintains park facilities throughout the community. Online registration is available for our programs.
There are seven beautiful town parks in the Town of Queensbury with trail systems for hiking, running, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and mountain biking. There are also several other parks with picnics, playgrounds, and gazebos for family fun in Queensbury and several have pavilions that can be rented for parties or special events.
Many of the parks remain open during the winter months, weather permitting, dawn to dusk, or by specific hours for year-round enjoyment. Our Parks & Facilities include:

- West End Park
Picnic pavilions are available on a first come, first serve basis at Hudson River Park, Ridge/Jenkinsville Park and West End Parks. Seasonal rentals are available at Gurney Lane Recreation Area and are available on a first come, first serve when not reserved for parties or events. Picnic tables available at almost all parks and Hovey Pond features an informative wetland lookout shelter. Residents and visitors alike enjoy our Queensbury parks and their many amenities.
The Recreation Committee is comprised of seven Town appointed members and direct and oversee the operation of the Department of Parks and Recreation. The Parks & recreation Departments has a full-time administrative staff along with several instructors, program supervisors, and activity leaders.
