Parks & Recreation

General Information:

The Town appointed seven member Recreation Commission oversees and directs the operation of the Department of Parks and Recreation. Administered by a full time administrative staff and supported by numerous qualified instructors, program supervisors and activity leaders, the department is charged with providing municipal year-round leisure time services to town residents. A variety of active, as well as passive recreational programs, activities and special events are offered for both children and adults. The department also operates and maintains a number of park facilities throughout the community. Go to the Activity Schedules to see the current activities schedule and program flyers.

Office Hours and Location

The department office is open from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday and is located in the Queensbury Town Office Building at 742 Bay Road, Queensbury.

Registration Information

Unless indicated otherwise, registration for programs and activities will be accepted at the department office (742 Bay Road). Please see Department Policies for additional information.

Community Cooperation

Through the cooperation and generosity of the Queensbury Union Free School District, the Queensbury Department of Parks & Recreation is able to provide numerous recreation programs and activities to the community. The department wishes to publicly acknowledge this cooperation, especially the use of school facilities, and express its sincere gratitude.

Program Funding Acknowledgment

A number of summer programs offered by the department are available in part because of funding assistance provided by the NYS Office for Children and Family Services and the Warren County Youth Bureau.
