Arbor Day Tree Planting at Queensbury Town Hall

On Friday, May 23, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., the Town of Queensbury held a heartfelt Arbor Day celebration featuring two ceremonial tree plantings at the front of Town Hall.

The event began with the planting of a White Oak tree dedicated to Harrison Freer, honoring his life and distinguished service to the community. Family members, town officials, and residents gathered to commemorate his legacy in a setting that reflects his lasting impact.

Following the dedication, representatives from the Warren County Soil and Water Conservation District (WCSWCD) delivered an engaging talk on the vital role trees play in urban environments. Their insights highlighted the environmental and social benefits of planting and maintaining healthy urban canopies.

As part of their support, WCSWCD generously donated a Sugar Maple tree, which was also planted on the Town Hall grounds, reinforcing the town’s commitment to sustainability and green initiatives.

Additionally, tree seedlings from the Saratoga Tree Nursery (NYSDEC) were distributed to attendees, encouraging residents to continue the spirit of Arbor Day by planting trees in their own communities.

The Town thanks everyone who joined in making this event a meaningful celebration of growth, remembrance, and environmental stewardship.
