Hudson Headwaters Health Network Headquarters: Queensbury NY

Hudson Headwaters Health Network headquarters Queensbury NY

While Queensbury is known for our history of being home to medical providers and manufacturers, it is hard to ignore the powerhouse that is Hudson Headwaters Health Network (HHHN). This not-for-profit system is comprised of 17 community health centers that provide care to an area of over 5,000 square miles in the Adirondack North Country. This network serves all of Warren County in addition to parts of Clinton, Essex, Hamilton, Saratoga, and Washington counties, with their headquarters in Queensbury.

Hudson Headwaters’ patients are cared for not only within these centers, but also at nursing homes, work locations, schools, hospitals, and even in patients’ own homes. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, HHHN declares their mission is “to provide care to everyone in the communities we serve, regardless of income or insurance. “

Starting as a single health center in Chestertown, NY in 1974, they expanded their reach over the next few years by opening new health centers in Warrensburg, North Creek, and Indian Lake with the help of community support, fundraisers, and volunteer efforts.

In 1981, the four facilities were combined under the Hudson Headwaters Health Network name and received their status as a Federally Qualified Health Center. Over the next 30 years they continued to expand not only in the number of facilities, but also in the locations they served, as well as in the services they offered. They opened their corporate center to house the administrative offices right here in Queensbury. Just this past October, they released their first issue of Hudson Headwaters Health magazine, a bi-annual print and digital magazine that focuses on wellness and prevention.

HHHN approaches their health care with an emphasis on the importance of prevention, helping their patients to both get and stay healthy. Considered a primary care practice, they serve people of all ages and offer general care as well as specialties like behavioral health, imaging, women’s health, and pediatrics, along with:

  • Urgent care
  • Care management
  • Nutrition & diabetes education
  • Dentistry
  • An HIV/Ryan White Program

  • ENT/Otolaryngology
  • Palliative care
  • Podiatry
  • Rheumatology

An important part of the HHHN model are volunteers. With opportunities in various aspects of the Hudson Headwaters system, volunteers have a choice to help in an area that best suits them. HHHN also runs advisory committees.
